Roberto Cavalli PreFall 2015: Golden Baroque Sensuality

Centuries of art and craftsmanship come together in the weaves and patterns of the Roberto Cavalli Fall / Winter 2015-16 Pre Collection, enhanced by precious materials and fine embroidery. The artisan heritage of the Maison creates a glossy sensual collection in which clever use of light and dark highlights the nobility of fabrics and manufacturing.

The finesse of Baroque trimmings and a triumph of gold inspire the collection’s sophisticated palette featuring brilliant and deep shades of blue, earthy neutrals and teal.

The glam rock soul of the Cavalli woman blends her modernity with Baroque models and neoclassical decorations, updating lampasses and brocades, overlapping them with contemporary materials such as flock and lurex.

Thin gold chains and small studs lend radiance to ramage and traditional floral paintings from the Florentine school of art, elegantly transposed onto clothes.

Gold is the new main player: chains, dazzling reflections and textures define the shape of garments and decorate necklines, cuffs and sleeves, while jackets and trousers are framed by golden lines.

Rich jacquard shirts have wide sleeves decorated with studs and golden thread. Shawlcollars and soft V-necks wrap around the body and fasten without buttons, sculpting sensual elegant volumes.

All-over gold lurex print on stretch trousers, developed on short A-line skirts and mini-dresses with animalier embroidery. Long, wide palazzo pants in jacquard silk, or printed leather and jersey fitted trousers with golden chains and studs. Fine cashmere, silk and super-fine woollen yarns for sweaters with a tiger pattern.

Colourful and embellished with patent-effect black eel or teamed with beaver on a tiger pattern, mink and fox fur flatter shaped coats, waistcoats and bomber jackets.

Bare backs, slits and plunging necklines for evening dresses built to talk about a tantalizing new beauty. All-over embroidery with “flower/baroque”designs and small shoulder wings inspired by oriental shapes. Dresses have hip-hugging peplums that lend movement to the pleats on generous lower volumes.
