Burberry celebrates the launch of The Britain

Burberry has launched The Britain, its mechanical watch collection for men and women which celebrates 156 years of Burberry history, British functional design values and the craftsmanship at the heart of the brand.

Directly inspired by the iconic Burberry trench coat, the collection features four different movements, including a 40-hour power reserve automatic, automatic and chronograph watches for men and women.

An iconic Burberry colour palette runs through the collection and details, and a transparent case back on automatic watches highlights the intricacies of the movement and the Swiss craftsmanship behind it.

Shot by photographer Mario Testino in London, the ad campaign for The Britain features a British cast of emerging cultural talent that represents the many facets and attitudes of the brand and The Britain.

To celebrate the launch, Gabriella Wilde and Rob Pryor hosted a cocktail event at the newly opened Burberry Regent Street flagship in London on october 2nd, attended by over 400 guests including Olympic gold medallist Victoria Pendleton, musician and Roo Panes, TV presenter and DJ Greg James, Gemma Chan, Olivia Grant and Jeremy Piven.

Further launch events with the cast are planned in New York and Beijing.
